Paul Winans, CR

Paul Winans, CR, ran a highly successful remodeling business with his wife, Nina, for 29 years before they sold it in 2007. Their systems-oriented approach, with manuals for every position which were used as part of a continuous training program, contributed greatly to the company’s success and their ability to be away from the day-to-day running of the business for cumulatively up to four months each year!

Paul is excellent at getting to the essence of what he’s heard and helping his clients look at their situations in new ways, providing suggestions based on his real life experiences. Rosie Romero is the host of Arizona’s No. 1 home improvement radio show and in the 14 years he owned Legacy Custom Builders, the remodeling firm received numerous awards including:

  • Remodeling Magazine’s Big 50 Hall of Fame
  • NARI’s Contractor of the Year — four times
  • International Furnishings and Design Association’s Visionary Award of Excellence
  • NAHB National Remodeling Quality Gold Award (the highest recognition by the residential housing industry).

Rosie Romero was also the first remodeler ever selected as a finalist in Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He is also a popular speaker at many industry events including The Remodeling Show.

 

Doug Howard

Experienced Leader, Entrepreneur, Government Official and Small Business Consultant with over 25 years of success in leading organizations, starting new organizations and assisting client companies as they start-up and grow. Throughout his career Doug has served as a leader in for-profit, non-profit and government organizations. He specializes in assisting businesses and government agencies develop plans that focus on improving their operational and financial performance and then executing effective strategies to implement those plans.

A highly successful entrepreneur in his own right, Doug owned and served as President of BDG Entrepreneurial Services from 1998 through 2015 providing small business accounting, tax and consulting services to small businesses with offices in four states, and then sold the company in a successful transaction. Doug founded Growth Team Strategies in 2012 and continues to serve as the President of this organization, which specializes in helping small and medium-sized businesses plan and implement the strategies that lead to successful rapid growth.

Doug’s unique experience and perspective on government operations derives from his years as an elected member of the Carroll County, MD Board of County Commissioners from 2010 through the present, and serving as President of the Board for four of those years. During his tenure, Doug has been particularly effective in supporting local business expansion, services for Veterans, education and instituting efficiencies in government operations and budgeting.

Doug has served as a Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors of Operational Performance Solutions, company that provides LEAN training and consulting, since the company’s founding in 2008. In 2016, he joined the OPS team to provide assistance to its clients in: operations analysis, performance improvement, problem-solving, strategic planning, budgeting and government operations.

Doug is the proud father of six children (two sons, four daughters) a grandfather to one grandson.
