Peer Review Groups Create a Magical Connection
Industry Media Say

According to the December 1, 2004 issue of Remodeling Magazine, two dozen remodeler interviewees said, "Peer review groups have made all the difference in their businesses and subsequently their personal lives," adding that "This is the best thing I ever did for my business." The magazine, in fact, called this a type of "group therapy" where it is safe for peers to "bare it all."

A magical connection emerges when you meet and chat with fellow remodelers at a Roundtables event where you will learn the best practices and success stories that changed their lives.

It should be no surprise that industry leaders and editors of the premier remodeling magazines praise the critically-acclaimed Remodelers Advantage Roundtables as the best program for mastering the business side of your remodeling company. In fact, remodelers like you, who are Roundtables members, rave about the milestone results their companies achieved including boosting profitability by as much as 100% or more!

Thank you so much for Remodelers Advantage Roundtables. It has been such an eye opening / mind expanding experience for me.

By God's grace and your assistance our company has evolved from the caterpillar to the butterfly. We are flying rather than crawling.

  • uncover aspects about your business you never knew. Said Michael Upshall, owner of Probuilt, a Toronto remodeling company in Canadian Contractor magazine, "I discovered I really didn't know the inner working of the numbers in my company. I didn't know (until then) what kind of job was best for me or how much I was making. I wish I had done it (joined Roundtables) sooner;"
  • be pushed to think outside the box. Your peers will stick you in the hot seat, challenging you to think more strategically, questioning the tactics you use and extracting the reasons for your not-so-sound decisions -- all while inspiring you to become a master at operating a successful, profitable business;
  • be a highly valued member of a close-knit group of remodelers. Some say Roundtables creates a magical connection between peers because they truly care and are deeply committed to your success. The group even lends a sympathetic ear during a crisis, committed to helping you emerge successfully;
  • achieve milestone results in half the time. Clients tell us that accountability is the #1 reason they've achieved breakthrough results in half the time compared to working alone. That's because we hold your feet to the fire every step of the way and are relentless in helping you achieve success!

Thanks for all the help over the past year and pushing me to join Roundtables. We got so much out of it that the excitement is hard to contain.

Roundtables is for you if you:

  • are the owner of a full-service, residential remodeling company with a minimum sales volume of $1,000,000. One or two person memberships are available to include partners or a senior manager at every meeting or on an ad hoc basis;
  • adhere to high standards of integrity. Honesty and ethical principles of conduct are the foundation for sound business practices. You must have these standards to become a successful remodeler;
  • are an action-oriented, self-starter. Those who benefit most are remodelers who step outside their comfort zone, take a stance on the issues and are determined to hit a home run;
  • are committed to helping your peers. Every Roundtables member is an active participant in contributing to a peer's success. Are you ready to dive in and offer constructive criticism?

This sharing mentality coupled with business savvy are the greatest strengths of Roundtables.

You'll be successful with this group if:

  • you're willing to showcase the flaws and traumas of your business. You must be willing to yell your financial and business practices from the highest mountaintop, so to speak. This includes unveiling your salary and your confidential financial statements such as profit and loss, current assets and liability, budgets and more -- only to those in your Roundtables group;
  • you accurately complete the forms and homework on time. Upon acceptance of your membership, you'll receive a package of material called "Company Focus" which requires you to bare all. This information allows your fellow roundtables members to understand your company, its strengths and weaknesses and to ask thought provoking questions to help you climb to the top;
  • you welcome constructive criticism. We are brutally honest, direct and to the point. Roundtables is definitely not for thin skinned personalities -- even though we provide this important input through a culture of caring. So, can you handle being raked over hot coals?

What did I like best? Probably the comradery and everyone pulling for everyone. I have never been in a situation that I felt as free to really share my feelings this openly. Normally I'm a pretty closed individual. But [Roundtables has] provided a platform to discuss our businesses and our lives in an extremely open way.

P.M.

  • you're committed to change. This is the most important ingredient to improve, succeed and take your business to the next level -- all in the spirit of respect, honesty, caring and fun.

Structure

The first step to joining this incredible learning community is to attend the Immersion Workshop, which is held several times each year. Click here for details on the value delivered by this popular, interactive conference.

Then, you'll join the Roundtables program and become a member of one of our many Roundtables Groups. We work with you to choose the best group for you based on:

  • groups that have openings;
  • groups that have no other members with which you might compete;
  • groups with companies similar in size and business model. In any group you join, there will more likely be some companies that are larger than yours and some companies that are smaller than yours -- but the differences won't be huge. For example, we would not place a $3 million dollar company in a group consisting of all $1 million dollar companys.

Once you are placed in a group, you will begin to attend Roundtables meetings.

Roundtables meetings, which are held twice a year, are three-day, think tank, peer review forums which include up to 12 full-service remodeling companies. There are no competitors from your geographic region and all companies are the same size, type and focus to ensure similar priorities and challenges as well as a fun, casual, and caring environment.

I just wanted to thank you for getting me into Roundtables. I feel like I've come home.

M.S.

Roundtables meetings have two primary formats. One format is the Community Meeting / Strategic Focus and concentrates on one specific area of your business -- sales, training, strategic planning, team building, or financial management, to name a few topics. This meeting takes place at wonderful resort locations. Nationally-acclaimed speakers like Michael Gerber, author of The E-Myth, Kraig Kramers, author of CEO Tools, even executives from the Disney Institute sometimes speak to the group and generate long lines of fans waiting to chat one-on-one after the sessions.

The second Roundtables format features a Case Study -- an in-depth review and analysis of one member company -- on-site at their office. This meeting is devoted to identifying strengths, uncovering weaknesses and creating a customized, results-driven, on-the-spot action plan by member companies. You'll interview staff and review in advance the company's history, goals, financial procedures, systems and projects (via videotape). Action groups -- featuring three to five remodelers -- will help the member company resolve three major concerns that require immediate attention. Click here for a typical day's agenda.

Most of all, I want to thank you for being the people that your are...wonderful, caring, devoted, loyal people. Without your help, my company would not be what it is today.

A.R.

The meetings may be held anywhere in the continental United States depending on the type of meeting. Case Study meetings are held at the location of one of the member companies. Community Meetings are usually held in some interesting location like Santa Fe, NM, Orlando, FL, Jekyll Island, GA or San Antonio, TX.

We choose facilities that are very nice but not extravagant. Typically the hotels are Marriott, Double Trees, or Hyatt's. We also negotiate with the hotel to provide you with the very best hotel rates available.

Some of the best ideas and information you'll receive is during the social time outside of the meeting room. We know that so we work hard to create a casual, family atmosphere to make networking easy and fun -- even for those who don't normally enjoy networking! So be ready to step out and talk to everyone there. This is a large part of the value that you receive from your investment, so take advantage of it!

First, let me say I wish I had joined before now. I was extremely impressed with the sincerity of all of the members. I always felt that they had my best interest at heart and were not trying to impress me or make themselves look good.
