The magazine, in fact, called this a type of "group therapy" where it is safe for peers to "bare it all."
A magical connection emerges when you meet and chat with fellow remodelers at a Roundtables event where you will learn the best practices and success stories that changed their lives.
It should be no surprise that industry leaders and editors of the premier remodeling magazines praise the critically-acclaimed Remodelers Advantage Roundtables as the best program for mastering the business side of your remodeling company. In fact, remodelers like you, who are Roundtables members, rave about the milestone results their companies achieved including boosting profitability by as much as 100% or more!

Said Michael Upshall, owner of Probuilt, a Toronto remodeling company in Canadian Contractor magazine, "I discovered I really didn't know the inner working of the numbers in my company. I didn't know (until then) what kind of job was best for me or how much I was making. I wish I had done it (joined Roundtables) sooner,"

Your peers will stick you in the hot seat, challenging you to think more strategically, questioning the tactics you use and extracting the reasons for your not-so-sound decisions -- all while inspiring you to become a master at operating a successful, profitable business;

Thank you so much for Remodelers Advantage Roundtables. It has been such an eye opening / mind expanding experience for me. By God's grace and your assistance our company has evolved from the caterpillar to the butterfly. We are flying rather than crawling....K.O.
This sharing mentality coupled with business savvy are the greatest strengths of Roundtables....K.B.
you're willing to showcase the flaws and traumas of your business. You must be willing to yell your financial and business practices from the highest mountaintop, so to speak. This includes unveiling your salary and your confidential financial statements such as profit and loss, current assets and liability, budgets and more -- only to those in your Roundtables group;
you accurately complete the forms and homework on time. Upon acceptance of your membership, you'll receive a package of material called "Company Focus" which requires you to bare all. This information allows your fellow roundtables members to understand your company, its strengths and weaknesses and to ask thought provoking questions to help you climb to the top;
you welcome constructive criticism. We are brutally honest, direct and to the point. Roundtables is definitely not for this skinned personalities -- even though we provide this important input through a culture of caring. So, can you handle being raked over hot coals?
What did I like best? Probably the comradery and everyone pulling for everyone. I have never been in a situation that I felt as free to really share my feelings this openly. Normally I'm a pretty closed individual. But [Roundtables has] provided a platform to discuss our businesses and our lives in an extremely open way....P.M.

Your Roundtables Frequently Asked Questions, Answered!
There are two different types of membership.
One-person membership in which the owner only attends all meetings.
Two-person membership in which the owner attends along with a second owner or a key manager. There's so much information to take in that having a second brain involved is a fantastic strategy for getting the most out of the meeting. You can bring the same person to all meetings or different people to each meeting. That's up to you!
From our years of experience in this industry, we know that the use of certain business practices have a dramatic affect on your future success and we push our members to adapt them as quickly and as fully as possible. We call these Success Practices:
Owner reviews and understands financial reports.
Percentage of Completion Accounting must be used.
Estimates match COGS categories in the P & L.
An annual Budget in place one month prior to the start of the fiscal year.
Budget is updated semi-annually at a minimum.
Accurate estimating confirmed through job cost reports and analysis.
At a minimum, job autopsies for jobs over budget.

And we want you to get the maximum benefit from this investment so we expect our members to fully abide by all of the Roundtables Tools.

Detailed and helpful personal letter.
Wise use of your time in the spotlight.
Willingness to make stretch commitments.
Expend effort to achieve commitments.
Active and regular participation in phone groups.
Active participation in meetings.
High-quality help extended to others.
Stay until the end of each meeting - no leaving early!
We know these Success Practices and Tools work and believe in them so much that we've developed our program around them and have built them into the three levels of Roundtables membership. These levels are called Executive, Professional, and Mentor.
There are three levels of membership.
Executive Level
When you join Roundtables, your first stop is the Executive Level where you will reside from 6 months to 3 years. Our goal is to see your commitment to using the tools and practices that we highly recommend and also to taking the steps necessary to improve your business.
A secondary goal of the Executive Level is to have all members learn "the numbers" well.
Professional Level
Once you are regularly using the Success Practices and Tools and are fully committed to the program, you may move to the Professional Level. At this time, you may move with other members of your current group, or choose to move independently to a new group. Because the members of the Professional Level understand the basic business practices as well as the key financial "numbers," the conversations are elevated and more time is spent on important strategic issues and decisions.
Mentor Level
To move to the Mentor Level, the company must have reached certain profitability levels over several years. These members understand that consistency in profitability is the result of using the right tools and practices.
Roundtables meetings have two primary formats. One format is the Community Meeting / Strategic Focus and concentrates on one specific area of your business -- sales, training, strategic planning, team building, or financial management, to name a few topics. This meeting takes place at wonderful resort locations. Nationally-acclaimed speakers like Michael Gerber, author of The E-Myth, Kraig Kramers, author of CEO Tools, even executives from the Disney Institute sometimes speak to the group and generate long lines of fans waiting to chat one-on-one after the sessions.
The second Roundtables format features a Case Study -- an in-depth review and analysis of one member company -- on-site at their office. This meeting is devoted to identifying strengths, uncovering weaknesses and creating a customized, results-driven, on-the-spot action plan by member companies. You'll interview staff and review in advance the company's history, goals, financial procedures, systems and projects (via videotape). Action groups -- featuring three to five remodelers -- will help the member company resolve three major concerns that require immediate attention. Click here for a typical day's agenda.
Most of all, I want to thank you for being the people that you are...wonderful, caring, devoted, loyal people. Without your help, my company would not be what it is today....A.R.
The meetings may be held anywhere in the continental United States depending on the type of meeting. Case Study meetings are held at the location of one of the member companies. Community Meetings are usually held in some interesting location like Santa Fe, NM, Orlando, FL, Jekyll Island, GA or San Antonio, TX.
We choose facilities that are very nice but not extravagant. Typically the hotels are Marriott, Double Trees, or Hyatt's. We also negotiate with the hotel to provide you with the very best hotel rates available.
Some of the best ideas and information you'll receive is during the social time outside of the meeting room. We know that so we work hard to create a casual, family atmosphere to make networking easy and fun -- even for those who don't normally enjoy networking! So be ready to step out and talk to everyone there. This is a large part of the value that you receive from your investment, so take advantage of it!
First, let me say I wish I had joined before now. I was extremely impressed with the sincerity of all of the members. I always felt that they had my best interest at heart and were not trying to impress me or make themselves look good....L.H.
